This program covers the basic skills to work safely around hazardous materials. The course covers worker education, workplace labeling and emphasizes the importance of understanding Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s). This training is meant to be used as independent study and allows students to go at their own pace. It works well in small or large groups and provides room for discussion and site specific training.
This course meets all of Health Canada’s training requirements under the Hazardous Products Regulations (HPR), for all persons involved in handling workplace chemicals.
Each package includes training materials for one person: a Self-Teach manual, a final exam that the employer marks, a sample SDS, sample supplier label, competency check, practical workplace exercises for site specific training, WHMIS Handbook and a certificate.
NOTE: This is an “employer-specific” certification as required by legislation. Clients may authorize TriTech Safety & Training Inc. to issue employer specific certifications or it can be signed-off by the current employer of the participant. Essentially, when you change employers, you need to re-take the WHMIS program.
ONLINE OPTION: This course is also available in an online format through our TriTech Online Training platform (please click the “Online Courses” tab above).
Upon successful completion students will have the ability to comprehend and successfully demonstrate all required skills.

Christina did an amazing job on the first aid course. Funny and thorough, I learned more in this course than than I ever have in a first aid course. Her nursing background was helpful in explaining the why of first aid. Well done!Posted on Kurt PierogTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very good experience. Did Intermediate First Aid with Christina Petersen as my instructor and she was awesome. Very pleasant and extremely funny. Excellent technique and knowledge. Best first aid class ive done in decades. She does draw wierd though... like her bumblebee was perfectly adequate, but when she tried to draw hand it did kind of make me question how they let her out of kindergarten with those drawing skills.Posted on Anthony ChouinardTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
