Upon the completion of this course, participants will understand the basic techniques required to effectively utilize a 30 lb. dry chemical fire extinguisher in a ‘live’ fire application and will understand the basics of Fire & Explosion Hazard Management (FEHM) – formerly the IRP-18 distinction.

NOTE: This course is sufficient for training fire-watch awareness staff in the energy sector industry.

  • Reporting, investigating & communicating fire explosion incidents

This course includes a practical component where students are required to extinguish a live fire with a 30 lb. dry chemical extinguisher at increasing levels of difficulty.

IMPORTANT:

Full fire extinguisher PPE is required – gloves, eye protection, steel toe/work boots, and fire retardant clothing or coveralls.

Completion

Upon successful completion of the practical component and the written exam (with a minimum score of 70%), you will receive a permanent Certificate of Completion.
