Upon the completion of this course, participants will understand the design and limitations of a powered overhead and hand-operated hoist (or crane), how to conduct pre-use and post-use inspections, and the basics of safe operation. The rigging component of this course includes training on set up procedures, limitations, care, inspection and storage of rigging equipment and loads.

If you would only like to train employees on the “Rigging” portion of this course, a half-day rigging training course is also available. This can take place at your location, or in-house at our facility.Β 

NOTE:Β At this time, this course is only offered as an offsite training – at your location, with your equipment. We can offer this training to your group for a minimum charge of 6 participants.

  • OH&S Regulations
  • Fundamentals of operation
  • Inspections: pre-use and post-use
  • Set up procedures for hoisting
  • Sling standards
  • Rigging Equipment: use, care, inspection & storage

This course includes a practical component where students complete a pre-use inspection checklist and then demonstrate safe operation of the equipment.

IMPORTANT:

Steel toe/work boots are required. Full PPE is suggested.Β Please dress for the weather, as the practical portion of this course might take place outdoors.

Completion

Upon successful completion of practical components and the written exam (with a minimum score of 70%), you will receive a temporary Certificate of Completion. The permanent certification will be mailed to your employer within 30-days of completion.
